Après-Ski Favorite: The Yurt Village at the St. Regis Deer Valley
If you find yourself skiing at Deer Valley Resort in Utah this winter, you might want to stop by the St. Regis and experience the new Yurt Village. Located slope-side on the ski beach, this three yurt village is nestled right next to the Deer Hollow ski run overlooking the Snow Park base area of Deer Valley Resort. It’s a stunning setting with an unforgettable view.
Named after the three ski events held at Deer Valley during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games: Aerial, Slalom, and Mogul, the yurts all exhibit their own unique decor, all cozy and inviting with a touch of ski history and photography throughout. You might notice some things look familiar, like the sweater your server is wearing, all courtesy of Alps & Meters. We even have an Alps & Meters’ signature cocktail: The Piste Bomber. Named after our own women’s Piste Bomber, this simple and delicious cocktail is made of rye whiskey, allspice dram, lemon and honey. We highly recommend try one… or two!
Now let’s talk about the fun part— the menu! Or should I say menus? You have the choice of lunch, après, and dinner seatings each with their own unique and gourmet menu. Since each yurt only seats one group of people (up to 8), there is a set family style menu for the Après seating with options to add on a Market Shellfish Tower, Iranian Pearl Ostera Caviar, and an assortment of French Patisseries. Trust us—you can’t go wrong!
If you happen to book for lunch or dinner, you will find an insatiable set menu for both. For lunch you can expect Marinated Utah Trout, La Belle Farms Pan Seared Foie Gras, and a 4 oz. Snake Creek Prime Petit Filet. Dinner includes Honey Roasted Butternut Squash, Glazed Berkshire Pork Belly, Porcini Dusted Prime Beef Tenderloin, Butter Poached Black Cod, with the option to upgrade to a 6 oz. A5 Japanese Wagyu Strip Loin.
