Refined Racing: Knitwear Through the Decades
When we were first conceiving our women's line, a few images kept repeatedly coming to mind. Andrea Mead Lawrence at age 15 skiing in pig tails and a cable knit sweater, or Rosi Mittermaier racing to Gold in Downhill at the Innsbruck Olympics in a dijon crew neck and red stretch pants.
These female pioneers shaped modern day skiing (and did it with style, precision and power), with knitwear playing an integral part in their athletic attire and apres ski uniforms. Our newest collection of women's knits and outerwear puts a modern spin on traditional classics such as that Cable Knit that young Andrea Mead Lawrence wore with such spirit. Below are a few of our favorite knitwear moments from the women's ski history book.
Thanks to Alison Napolitano of Alpine Style 56 for curating and preserving such an impressive collection of these photos.
