Playbook: The St. Regis Snow Polo World Championship

Aspen is known for a variety of things. Sure, it’s got a mining town history, over the top food and wine scene, awe-inspiring views, and friendly locals. But glitz and glamour is also high on the list. And for a few days every winter, the sport of kings is played on snow right in town.

Hosted by Aspen Valley Polo Club owners Marc and Melissa Ganzi, the tournament boasts players (and spectators) from all over the world, and is North America’s only snow polo tournament.

For the seventh consecutive year, Aspen Valley Polo Club will host the star-studded event along with polo ambassador and St. Regis Connoisseur Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina. The VIP tent at Rio Grande Park puts spectators within petting distance of the ponies, and offers a luxurious spread.

Meet Alps & Meters at the polo matches, or stop into Alps & Meters at Aspen Outfitting’s St. Regis location for a glass of champagne and some shopping on Friday, December 20th and Saturday, December 21st from 3-7 pm. A White Hot Party with the Players (to benefit the Aspen Valley Hospital Foundation) takes place at the new W Hotel in Aspen on Friday from 6-9 pm. See you there!
