Wax Care with Alpinist Bobby Thomson

Alpinist Bobby Thomson will ski 100 days this season. The Jackson Hole transplant is an avid outdoorsman, getting outside in 4 seasons to ski, horseback ride, paddle board, or spend time on the water. As such, Bobby's learned a thing or two about how to treat his gear. He surprised us and sent us this re-waxing tutorial a few weeks back. Check it out for a tutorial on how to re-wax your Alps & Meters garments, and be sure to contact us with any questions.

Our Alpine Anorak and Classic Shell Jackets should be rewaxed about once a year, depending on wear. We recommend using Barbour's Thornproof Wax Dressing, as Barbour and Alps & Meters depend on the same British Millerain Waxed Canvas to construct our garments.

These garments, if properly cared for, should last decades, so take Bobby's advice, and invest in a can of wax. Nothing better than staying dry and protected while all of your friends complain of soggy jackets on a wet snow day.
