Where to Stay: The Little Nell

Where to Stay: The Little Nell

If you're looking for a hotel with ski in/ski out access in Aspen, The Little Nell is it. No really, this luxurious spot is located at the base of Ajax and offers the ONLY luxury choice for slope side lodging. An Aspen mainstay, The Little Nell opened in 1989 to much acclaim. 5 stars and 5 diamonds later, and The Nell (a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux organization) is still ranked near the top of Conde Nast Traveler's Gold List annually.

Ask those who know and they'll mention that what makes The Nell special isn't the 20,000+ bottle wine cellar, or the glitzy aprés scene...It's the people, and the personalized service that makes this 92 room hotel feel smaller. From a Ski Concierge to complimentary transportation around Aspen and Snowmass, The Little Nell anticipates guest's needs before they know that they have them.

Ajax Tavern and Element 47, the property's two restaurants treat guests to locally sourced ingredients and inventive preparations, while being attended to by a team of 43 Sommeliers (23 Introductory, 17 Certified, 2 Advanced, and 1 Master). A mobile, on snow Champagne bar delights guests as it's pulled by a snow cat around the mountain to different locations.

In our opinion, The Little Nell is the gold standard in luxury mountainside lodging. Between the location, ski concierge, and five star in-house tuning services, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to lay your head for a week in the mountains.
