Summer Fun in Mountain Towns- 2017 Edition

With the East Coast ski season officially in our rearview, the Alps & Meters team is looking ahead to summer hiking, cycling, trail running, and best of all, relaxation in the mountains. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite events and festivals in a few of our favorite mountain town destinations to help you plan your summer pursuits. See you out there!

Aspen Food & Wine Classic: June 16-18

The Aspen Food & Wine Classic is arguably the best food festival in the country, boasting names like Ludo Lefebvre, Daniel Boulud, Danny Meyer, and Alps & Meters' own Alpinist and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey. This is one not to be missed. 

Race to the Top of Vermont: August 27

Run, bike, or hike up the Mount Mansfield toll road with 800 competitors in Stowe, Vermont. Spanning 4.3 miles, and climbing 2,564 ft. this isn't an easy one, but the views make up for any tough moments. The perfect way to get in shape for ski season? 

Siptemberfest: September 23-24

Nestled at the foot of Mad River Glenn's iconic Single Chair, Siptemberfest celebrates Vermont beer in a casual and stunning setting. Try beers (and meet the brewers) from Lawson's Finest, Tree House Brewing, Drop In, and Farnham Ale, among others. 

Verbier St. Bernard Ultra Race: July 7-9

Offering 4 different races, ranging from 6-110 km, the Verbier-St. Bernard Ultra offers runners stunning views, a Swiss Alphorn cheering section, and bragging rights. Read Alpinist Nick Marmet's recap of last year's race here. 

Telluride Mountainfilm: May 26-29

A documentary film festival celebrating the mountains, the environment, and culture through art, film, and symposiums, this is one not to miss. Athletes, artists, and change makers converge on Telluride in late May.
